Sensory Awareness is a more body-oriented mindfulness practice. Meditation is a way of focusing and coming to your center. Sensory Awareness is about feeling your center while talking, walking, dancing, sitting and reading these words. We can feel in our body a response to the environment or our own thoughts. Charlotte Selver, the founder of Sensory Awareness, spoke of listening to the wisdom of the organism. As we listen to our wise nature we discover in ourselves a deep grounding and trust. SALTI guides students to become leaders of Sensory Awareness through this same exploration. Attention in leading is put on open ended questions and invitations rather than directives. The goal as such is to instill curiosity through their leading and follow that to wherever it might lead. We guide the students to develop their Leading according to their own careers.

Join us for the new cohort of SALTI, a 2 year mostly online journey for experienced somatics practitioners who currently or hope to lead Sensory Awareness sessions.
This experience includes: online synchronous classes, written assignments for ideation and reflection, one on one faculty mentoring, peer to peer co-mentoring, and a supportive enviornment to plan an implementation project
Sensory Awareness is a somatic practice brought to North America by Charlotte Selver. SALTI stands for Selver Awareness Leader Training Institute in honor of Charlotte Selver and the integrity that she infused into this work.
The SALTI program also honors the work of the many leaders of the Sensing legacy, who came before and after Charlotte, including her teachers, Elsa Gindler and Heinrich Jacoby. The SALTI program is in direct relationship with the Sensory Awareness Foundation and the Sensory Awareness Leaders Guild.
